# Archiving

Done with a trip? Archive its group and it leaves your groups list.

Archiving is **only for you**. The other members keep the group in their list,
nothing is deleted, and the balances don't change. It is the quiet alternative
to [deleting a group](https://github.com/orochibraru/opencount/blob/main/docs/groups-and-members#leaving-and-deleting), which removes it
for everyone, and to leaving it, which takes your account out of it.

Archive a group from its menu in the groups list or from **Settings, General**.
Archived groups live under **Archived groups**, reachable from the groups list;
open one as usual, or **Unarchive** it to bring it back to your list.

You stay a member of an archived group: you can still open it, add expenses and
settle up.
